"Live With a Full Moon in Each Eye"

The poetry of Hafiz never ceases to inspire me. Here's a beautifully profound poem I came across today:

With That Moon Language

Admit something.

Everyone you see, you say to them
"Love me."

Of course you do not do this out loud:
Otherwise,
Someone would call the cops.

Still, though, think about this,
This great pull in us to connect.

Why not become the one
Who lives with a full moon in each eye
That is always saying,

With that sweet moon
Language

What every other eye in this world
Is dying to
Hear?

  3. Hi Guri,
A few years ago a good friend of mine forwarded me "Smug master". It was a difficult time in my life and I will never forget the jolt that I felt when I read that poem. Thanks! My wife and I will wait for the day when you publish your poems.I wish you a very blessed journey.

And Sam, I had completely forgotten about that poem. Thanks for the reminder...maybe I'll share it again on the blog. Glad it came to you at the right time.

    Love,
    Guri
