The poetry of Hafiz never ceases to inspire me. Here's a beautifully profound poem I came across today:
With That Moon Language
Admit something.
Everyone you see, you say to them
"Love me."
Of course you do not do this out loud:
Otherwise,
Someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this,
This great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one
Who lives with a full moon in each eye
That is always saying,
With that sweet moon
Language
What every other eye in this world
Is dying to
Hear?

ReplyDeleteHi Guri,
ReplyDeleteA few years ago a good friend of mine forwarded me "Smug master". It was a difficult time in my life and I will never forget the jolt that I felt when I read that poem. Thanks! My wife and I will wait for the day when you publish your poems.I wish you a very blessed journey.
Thanks for your comments Liberty and Sunaina! Somehow I hadn't seen these until now.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sam, I had completely forgotten about that poem. Thanks for the reminder...maybe I'll share it again on the blog. Glad it came to you at the right time.
Love,
Guri
